scared to change meds again

im on lexapro and the generic of wellbutrin. ive been doing much better with the combination. ive only been on lexapro for maybe 3 weeks and using the sample packs. i went to get an actual prescription and my insurance does not want me to use lexapro. so it was decided to put me on citalopram. the only side effects i have right now(which i dont necessarily like) are that im always tired, my sex drive isnt quit as high, and it takes me way longer to orgasm(it already took a long time before...grrr...). so im scared to start a new drug and possibly get new side effects. i didnt gain weight with lexapro which was my main concern starting it. now im worried that citalopram will do that, or make me not be able to sleep, make me more depressed, or anything else crappy like that. sigh...

As far as I know, Citalopram is the most selective ADs, it means it shouldn't have as many side effects as others, but I guess it really depends on the person.

Re: scared to change meds again

I used to take Lexapro and about 2 years ago, my doctor switched me to Celexa for financial reasons as well. I have absoluely no sex drive, but that's pretty much the case across the board with antidepressants. I also have had some changes in my period. My doc said it was the Celexa. I only get a period about every 3 months now.
