Re: depression

People by the way they are designed are suppose to get upset from time to time. Depression is when it does not go away for long periods of a time. If something in your life is causing you an extra amount of stress that leads to unhappiness figure out what it is and correct it

take care

Re: depression

What is it about your job and boss which make it so stressful? Sorry to hear about your uncle.

Re: depression

Details! What exactly bothers you. If you don't want to talk about it this is fine just tell me. If you want to get better, however, you do need to understand yourself and this means details....

Re: depression

what exactly bothers me is the fact that my boss thinks she's knows everything because she was in the business 7 years longer than me. but i have my tricks in my line of work. and the customers think we should bow down to them like kings queeens princes and princesses like the cashier is the lowly peassant.

Re: depression

I see, do you want to go into more detail about these interactions with your boss? Do you have your way of doing things and she tries to get you to do it her way? So the customers have a superior attitude towards you without any respect or appreciation? Can I ask what type of business you are in?

Re: depression

well i'm a cashier at a food store. secondly my boss just doesn't the fact that her way isn't always the right way. for one thing she belives that the soda bottles shuld be laid down when packed and i did that for a customer and he wnent back and stood them up and the added more to the bag. as fopr the customers they don't appericaite what i do or anyone who in my line of work. for example i say thank youa and have a nice day to eveeryone that comes through my line but some just leave without a thank you in return all they give in return is a dirt look and attitude like it was my fault something in thier went wrong.

Re: depression

So does your boss put a lot of pressure on you to adopt her way? Sounds like you are very tuned in to what others expect out of you? I had this problem and it was attributed to having weak boundaries. Sometimes it is best for you not to collect so much info from others (what their expectations are). YOU decide what you are going to do, not others. I almost always rearrange my food bags. Everyone has their own preferences, this does not mean that you are a moron. (I think that this relates to taking in other's expectations). Do you think that you are looking for approval from others? If this is true it will cause you a lot of trouble.
