Question NEW..need input. Direct me to the right thread..wellbutrin

I am on day two of Wellbutrin first time ever taking any prescription medication for my anxiety. It took me 34 long years of irritation and pain to finally give in and do something about it once and for all.

So i am nervous! Not one who likes the thought of being medicated.
I would rather do it natural with foods and supplements..but obviously that route has not worked for me.

This message board is amazing and makes me feel like i am not alone

So my question is: Day two and all i can say is i feel a slight burning sensation on my forearms. Happened last night as well. Just wondering if anyone else felt this in the beginning.

Super excited to see what happens with this med and myself. I can not imagine what life would be like to wake up each day..happy..rested and ready to face the day without fears! So tired of being tired!

If anyone knows of a good thread i can follow as i go day to day with this, please let me know.

WISH ME LUCK!

Noel,

The search bar on the upper left should help. Choose healthboards.com and then the prescription's name.

Good luck on both your search and added prayers for success when the wellbutrin takes effect.

Take care and God Bless.

Re: NEW..need input. Direct me to the right thread..wellbutrin

Hi:

Welcome to healthboards. Wellbutrin is an odd choice for someone with anxiety issues, I have been on it for a long time now and it is a great drug but it also acts like a stimulant which tends to set off someones anxiety. The big thing to keep in mind is whether you are taking the brand name version or a generic version as the side effects and success ratio differs to a large degree.

take care

Re: NEW..need input. Direct me to the right thread..wellbutrin

I too thought it was odd choice. But Doc. knew i wanted NO side effects..i would be freaked out if gained weight. My therapist seems to think i need both anti-depress as well as anxiety med. I of course say "I am not depressed" I just want to stop worrying. And go in public without feeling anxious..something to take the edge off maybe. I have sleep disorders so I am tired all day long. I starrted taking Tylonal PM a year ago to help me get 3 solid hours before the clock watching begins. I am thinking maybe that is why wellburtin too...for energy throughout the day. Maybe she thinks i will zip around all day and be tired enough to pass out at night. Who knows! My brain tic tocks all night long.

Thank you for writing, I am sure i will be asking tons of questions.
