On Effexor ad Wellbutrin but wanting to backpack SE Asia... - Depression Message Board

I've been on 150 mg of Effexor and a wellbutrin XL once a day for the past year and a half. They've worked great so far and have given me lots of energy that I thought I could never regain.

Anyway some buddies are planning a backpacking trip throughout SE Asia next summer and I would really want to take part in it. However I need to take my meds everyday obviously and I was wondering how hard it'd be to resupply while I'm out there. I honestly have no idea how long we'd be gone for. Should I attempt to take as much as possible before leaving? Also I'd like to keep my whole depression history away from my buddies which would obviously mean taking the pills secretly but resupplying might prove to make that tough. Any tips/suggestions about this situation?

where about in SE Asia you guys are planning on going? Coz I would imagine no matter where you go, yo would need to see a doctor to get a resupply, esp. if the doc has never given you meds before, he/she would for almost certain want to see you before hand. Can you not speak to your doc about it and see how much can you take before you go, and perhaps get ur familiy or a friend to post it to you from time to time... I know having an address seem a bit of a joke when backpacking, but I suppose this would be an idea.

Stock up before you leave. You would not want Effexor withdrawals in the middle of nowhere.
