How do you know which one you are needing??

I have depression and anxiety.

well that's something your pdoc should be able to tell you. I think generally you would take an ssri as the ssnri will increase the norepinephrine and that may result in more anxiety.

Individual response varies so much. Your physician can make a recommendation based on his experience. Any class is capable of provoking anxiety.........

I agree...you need to discuss your medication questions with a qualified doctor...they are the only ones that can help you with this. As for my own personal experience, I disagree with one of the previous posters who said that a SSNRI will increase anxiety. I take Cymbalta, which is a SSNRI, and it has REDUCED my anxiety, not increased it. It is used to treat both depression and anxiety. But again, only your doctor can help determine which med is best for YOU.

My experience with a ssnri was the same as the pp. My anxiety was reduced, and I slept better.
