Getting the right med mix

So after a Dr's visit last week, I got my meds changed again. I started Wellbutrin and Cymbalta together. I guess it's not a usual combo, but my dr said it is not harmful. I had taken each of these two meds independantly, and although I liked the effect they had on me, I could not tolerate the side effects. Wellbutrin was great for not eating or smoking, but my anxiety level was through the roof. Cymbalta was good, except it made me tired and just empty. Also made me want to drink like a fish. And I'm really not a drinker. It leveled my mood, though. So I'm hoping with this new med combo that the beneficial effects of each drug will counteract the bad side effects of the other. I actually have felt great in the last few days. The true test will be pms week. I'm just happy to not feel like drinking. I was seriously at rock bottom last week. I was telling my dr of the drinking. He told me that he has seen people die from mixing xanax (which I take at night to help sleep) and alcohol. Considering the amount I had been drinking (a bottle of wine at night!!) and then taking a half a xanax at night, it really scared the cr*p out of me. The thought of never being able to look into my children's faces again kind of gave me a new lease on life. I just hope that things keep looking up. I keep telling myself only three months until spring.............

Re: Getting the right med mix

My Dr. put me on Lexapro and Welbrutrin. He said that's one of the best combos of meds out there. I've felt great ever since. I don't know what your situation is, so that combo may not be the right thing for you. It may be worth mentioning to your Dr? I hope you get the right mix. Good Luck!!!

Michelle

Re: Getting the right med mix

I tried Lexapro and it is AWESOME but I took it along with some great suppliments I found at the health store. I went to the Iridologist (the kind that look into your eyes and see what's wrong in your body) that was really fantastic experience, she told me all the natural vitamins/supplements I needed and what was my body weaknesses and what to take along with my Lexapro. It changed me quickly but of course I am so sensitive to things that after taking the Lexapro for about 2 years it started making me sick, but while in-between finding the right anti-depressant again the natural supplements were still working. Not for everyone but it helped me.

Thanks!!!

Re: Getting the right med mix

So far on the cymbalta and wellbutrin I feel fabulous. Really. I know it hasn't been a week yet, so I hope this feeling doesn't pass. I feel a little "off" mentally, and have a few muscle aches (I think thats from going on to the wellbutrin and it should pass) but other than that I feel happy. For the first time in ages! I do worry about what these meds are doing to my body, but the mental relief seems worth it right now. Thanks for the responses, guys.

Christine
