I would like to know also. I started 2 weeks ago first with 37.5 now up to 75 next week I'm supposed to go to 150
i've noticed a little change in my feelings but it keeps me awake at night. I may have to switch and take it in the morning
I started effexar er 2 weeks ago. Started at 37s and just went up to 75s yesterday. I have noticed a huge difference allready. I feel like I did years ago and it took pain out of my shoulders that I have been suffering over a year with. It just seems to agree with me. I think most people see a change within a month though.
On average it takes four to six weeks to really feel the effects but it should be kept in mind that every time there is a change in the dosage it is going to take another time period of waiting before the true effects are known.
Major Depressive Disorder With Psychotic Features
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Borderline Personality Disorder
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Took 6 weeks for me to start feeling the effects... during that time I had many side effects- dry mouth, blurred vision etc. But they cleared up.
I am only on 75mg but it works very well for me (been on it a year).
It does take time initially to work. I would try it for at least 6 weeks or more and if there's no changes after that or the side effects are too rough then I would consider switching to something else.
I have been depressed for so long, finally went to a doctor tonight and he prescribed me Effexor. Now that I'm reading all about it online, I'm petrified, I'm actually in tears. Do I really want to be on this medication??
I'm just so nervous - I also feel like my head is full of cotton, and I need to concentrate at work...I have to deal with a houseful of people Saturday for my son's birthday and I don't know how I'm going to be able to (especially since I can't even have a couple of beers now).
p.s. - I apologize if two posts come up from me, I wrote one earlier and it didn't show up so I'm writing this real quick.
Take your meds in the morning, as they do energize you making it hard to sleep. After Wellbutrin was added to my treatment I was advised to take them in the morning, so I took them upon getting up(8:30-9:30), and still couldn't sleep. Now my husband gives them to me when he leaves in the morning(6:30), and I now automatically wake at 8:10, almost every morning. This has made such a big difference.
I actually just left a message with the doctor - I have no appetite, am a bit naseous, and feel very jumpy (keep gritting my teeth) and cannot focus at all - it feels worse then it did this morning, and I took it at 7pm last night. How in the hell am I supposed to function at work feeling like this?
