I see a psychiatrist on Tuesday. I am a chronic pain patient with severe depression. I don't want to go anywhere or do anything. I have no energy. I have been treated by pain management doctor for over 2 years now. I am on morphine sulfate and other pain meds. I cannot sleep at night and I am so sad I could just sit and cry. I have had spinal cord stimulator, nerves burned, injections all in the last year.
I have been taking 20mg lexapro and 60mg cymbalta for 2 years. How can I still be depressed? ??? What will the psychiatrist do?
Re: What Next
Hi, I'm so sorry you're in so much pain! I can relate to what you're saying as I have fibro and M.E, so I know how it feels to be in absolute agony and not be able to do anything about it (though maybe not as much pain as you're in?)I also suffer from depression as a result of the pain and fatigue. All I can say is that you're doing the right thing:) From what I understand the psychiatrist should have more knowledge and medication and the brain. He may change your medication and/ or refer you to therapy, so it is another step forward!! Good luck! I hope it all goes well and brings you all the relief and support you need. Sending big hugs xxx
