Hi there, I had pancreitis a few years ago...it was acute though. I got it because my gallbladder had gone wayyyy to baaaadd. The pain was intense and unbearable! I'm so glad I don't suffer from it chronicly. I really feel for you. When mine flared up they limited my food and fluid intake to reduce the inflamation. Have you looked around to see if diet could help you out?
Angie I've tried everything and I'm on a special diet. It's very low in fat and no fructose. Which is very hard cause everything you buy that is premade has it in it. I also can't get near alcohol. One drink and it's off to the hospital with me. I tried it new years eve and I spent 5 days in the hospital. Beleive me it's not worth it. Melody, I went over and sent in a reply to ReeAnn but I haven't heard from her yet. Thanks for telling me about her. Take care all. I'm still in good spirits.
That's really too bad, Kyle. I know what the pain it like. YOu are quite limited in what you can eat and drink. I did some research, when I had it, and the implication are pretty serious. Have you considered having it removed. If I remember correctly, this is a possibility but you will be insulin dependent. I suppose either way the concequences are severe. I was lucky, it went away when my gallbladder went!
Glad to hear you've been feeling better these days. I have been too but that is a concern for me until I see the pdoc as I have to try not to empty the bank account, go on a spending spree, spend the next month in a drunken haze, ect... all the "fun" (sarcastic) parts of being bipolar.
