| Re: I Quit Prozac. Starting the WORT.. Any Advice?
I went off Prozac about 7 months ago, and my depression returned like a ton of bricks around 2 months after...I was so depressed, I felt paralyzed! I too, was tired of checking in with my aloof, money-grubbing shrink. During my GYN annual, I discussed my depression with my dr., and she suggested trying Prozac again....she gave me a 1 year prescription!!! No more middleman for me!!! He was worthless anyways.
Anyways, 3 months into treatment, I was still feeling depressed. I started thinking maybe I was now immune to the Prozac, or that there was something seriously wrong with me like a disease or cancer. I had every blood test available done, and they found NOTHING!!!
Desperate, I turned to my vitamin books and read about all the vitamin deficiencies and their symptoms. I discovered that a lack of V B vitamins will cause depression, fatigue, unclear thinking, nervousness, etc. (A B deficiency will result from drinking coffee or alcohol). So I purchased a good B-complex, and within 2 weeks, I felt a dramatic difference! I feel like a new person. This inspired me to investigate about other vitamins and herbs.
I believe there's real healing power with natural remedies, and the overpaid Dr.s don't want to admit it for obvious reasons.
If you're commited to staying off Prozac, I suggest you start reading up on vitamins and herbs. Good luck to you!!
