unrelenting fatigue

Does anyone else have the problem of severe
fatigue....the kind where you cannot get out
of the bed unless you've had at least 12 hours of sleep, and then you feel groggy for
a few hours? I have been this way for years,
and the doctor hasn't a clue what to do for me. I feel so tired that it is a challenge just to bathe. If anyone was like this and is now better, please, let me know what to do to help myself. I am nearing the end of
all hope of getting better.

Re: unrelenting fatigue

Hey N,
No I have never had that problem, I'm lucky if I ever can sleep 5 hours or so.
I've been were I did'nt want to get out of bed but I was'nt really sleeping, just out of it in a detached-mental state.
They have a CFS board here, you might ask around over there. Good luck and hope you find some answers. http://www.healthboards.com/cgi/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number=34

Peace

Re: unrelenting fatigue

You're luckier than me. I sleep 18-20 hours a day and the scary fact is that it is not that I want to sleep so much but I don't know why but I need to sleep, sleep and sleep. I'm scared because I've tried exercising and it doesn't work. Maybe it's because I'm suicidely depressed and cannot face life. Maybe!

Re: unrelenting fatigue

Yes, I had that problem before. One doc I have says I have atypical depression (where you sleep and eat more than less) and gave me zoloft and adderall. Adderall is a stimulant (like ritalin) and it helps.
