Late afternoon depression

I saw where someone else mentioned late afternoon/evening depression. I get that way every day, beginning around 4:00 p.m. I get the blues and I don't know why. I'm on Effexor and have been for years and it helps with the other issues, such as anger and anxiety, but I still feel sad in the afternoon. I hate long summer days when afternoon goes on and on and on. I prefer winter, when it's dark by 5:00 p.m. I'm okay once it's dark and yet I love mornings! Mornings are my time of day, I guess. I'm usually fine until around 3:30 or so and then the feelings begin to creep in. I wish I could sleep from 3:00 until 7:00 every day!

Re: Late afternoon depression

Hi,
Your depression could be related to the daylight but it could also be that during the day you get bored because there is nothing significant happening. Can you describe what you think about around 3pm during the summer? I believe its winter where you are currently so between 3 and 5 things are still bright. Try to sleep in the afternoon as a nap one day and see how the entire day feels.
Thanks
