Adding prozac to the mix

A couple of weeks ago my pdoc added prozac to my other meds (depakote, clonazepam and trazodone). Since then my depression and anxiety have increased drastically. I also have a history of self harm.

I had not seen my tdoc for a few months because he was out on leave, but he returned yesterday and the pdoc I will be seeing tomorrow is new.
I have been diagnosed with so many different things that the last pdoc would just tell me "You're complicated"

I am frustrated, new pdoc and will she just go from what is in my file? (same office, new doc) GP told me to go to ER for an IP stay (extremely hesitant)
Just unsure of what the right thing to do is...

Re: Adding prozac to the mix

Hello elocin8.

I think it's quite possible your new pdoc will go from what is in your file, so that she won't be asking for the same information your last pdoc has already asked for.

What is your Prozac dosage? I also been taking Prozac for the last several weeks. Today I increased my dose from 40mg to 60mg. I'm not sure how effective it's been for me so far. Before Prozac I was taking Zoloft and I had to increase to the maximum dosage to get sufficient improvement. My doctor thinks I may have to do the same with Prozac.

I hope you feel a little more certain about what to do after talking to your pdoc tomorrow.

Re: Adding prozac to the mix

I am only on 20mg of Prozac right now.
I was called into my GP's office this afternoon, as we have been in contact by phone during the last few weeks. Had I not shown up and informed him of my pdoc appointment I would probably be an IP right now. Definitely scared me but nice to know my doc truly cares
Just ready for this crazy mood swing ride to be over, need a little balance
