| | Depression, anxiety?
I'm 21 years old. I've been wearing glasses for 11 years now. Recently, for 4 months I'm having serious "headaches" (I think the type of headaches is tensional). I feel the pain almost all day and it is very strong. It does not feel like normal headache but like burning just where the glasses touches the skin. The skin is not red or anything. It looks like everything is OK. Also when I am touching the skin with my fingers (when it hurts the most) the pressure does not cause any pain. When I remove my glasses the pain starts to wane and it is gone when I sleep.
My prescription, alergies, ears have all been checked and they're all fine. The problem accured when I was trying to adjust my previous frames of glasses (the plastic ones) and they started to cause pain. I went back to optics store for at least 20 times. When we could not adjust the frame anymore, I bought a new one (aluminium frame). The problem repeated it self. I visited my physician, ENT, was treated with acupuncture... Nothing really helped. It is going on for several months now. I'm taking some kind of sedative pills recently (Apaurin), which help only SOMETIMES - to ease the pain for a couple of hours.
Do you think my problem can be the result of mental condition? Do you think antidepressant can help here? Is it possible that this is kind of a defence mechanism against stress and simmilar stuff in life?
