Hi All, I'm new to this board. My Mother was diagnoised a type 2 Diabetic a year ago. Her Doctor put her on the mildest pill there is, I can't think of the name right now but a lot of people take it. He prescribed 1 pill in the morning. Before she took the pill her blood level was 153. Well, the problem is that my Mother eats her regular diet during the day and when she tests her blood at night it is to low to go to bed. Her levels at night range from 115 to 140. She was told that it was OK to go to bed with 140 so she did and when she tested her blood in the morning it was 50. So when my Mother gets a reading 140 and under at night, which is just about everynight, she has to eat a snack and she is not hungry. Since she has been diabetic she has dained a lot of weight because of this. I told her I think the pill is to strong she should try cutting it in half but her doctor said it is not and my Mother is just being an alarmest. Does anyone have any advice what she should do? Please help, I think the pill is called Alapro, something like that.
