Hi guys my name is Sara I am 32 yr old mom of 3 married 14 yrs to a great guy. I am a type 2 diabetic. I have had ongoing problems for going on 2 yrs now. I almost lost my left toe last year and now I have cellulitis in the same leg. Has anyone else had this and can tell me about it? I feel as though I am dying a slow death. When I had the toe problem I had a picc line for 8 weeks. I dont want to go through that again. I have been suffereing from Diabetes since 1992. I am not comfortable with my primary Doctor so have been putting off even calling about my leg. Do I call the infecteous Specialist or do I call the Primary care guy. I have an appointment with my Endro but not till the 20th today is the 11th. HELP

If you have cellulitis, it is nothing to fool around with. I had it 2 years ago in my left leg and ended up in the hospital on IV antibiotics. As you know, being diabetics, we tend to heal slower than non-diabetics. If you don't like your primary, I would take a trip to the er, before it gets worse. Are you running a temp? Please get your leg checked out asap.......Mine got so bad I could not walk. Please don't wait 9 more days.

It is so important to have this treated NOW. The complication is tragic, a loss of a mimb. I hate the complications of DM, but I want a good life...which depends on the choices I make. How are your sugars doing? It is important to test often when you have a complication, and if they are high, treat them, as per your treatment plan. Good luck. This can be handeled.
