Some of the types of carbs I've cut out of my diet are pasta, rice, white bread, potatoes, bagels, cakes, muffins, cereal, any corn products, etc. Sometimes I have a little on the side, but I don't sit down for a whole bowl of pasta with something else on the side. Not anymore. My diet now consists of foods high in protien like beef, rabbit, lamb, pork, chicken, turkey and fish and high in fiber like whole grains, selected fruits, vegetables, legumes, and nuts. I also eat alot of low fat cottage cheese and greens. I don't drink alcohol, I occasionally have a drink-like once a month if that. This diet has helped curb my sharp drops in blood sugar and its also helped me to lose about 15 lbs. I'm so used to it now, that its not a diet for me any longer. Its natural eating habits now. You should check with your doc, but eating alot of bread and pasta doesn't sound like the right diet for a diabetic. Alos, keep in mind I am not diabetic-I get hypoglycemia. This is the diet recommended by my nutritionist. You should check with your doc if you haven't already.
