It's not unusual to feel as if you have hypoglycemia when your blood sugars first start coming down. If your body is used to the highs, it will take a while to get used to the "normal" levels. Please believe that it is worth it. Keeping your blood glucose as near normal as possible will minimize and even may eliminate any possible long-term complications, such as heart disease, kidney disease, vision problems, etc.
It can take several weeks for the blood sugars to stabilize. Test as often as you can (3-4 times a day), especially at first as your medication is adjusted, so that you can spot patterns. This will help both you and your doctors figure out whether you're on the right amount of medication.
I know diabetes can seem overwhelming at first, but the upside is that people who take care of their diabetes may end up being healthier in the long run than people who don't even have diabetes and don't take care of themselves.
So, hang in there!
