Post How much can stress raise BS

I go to the Dr. on Wed and I keep going back and forth between whether or not I think I will come back positive for diabetes.

The last time I was in there my blood sugar came back at 157 they said, I had not really eaten that day but I had drank a glass of sweetened tea about an hour before they drew my blood.

My main question is how much can stress raise your blood sugar? I have been so stressed lately, the main reason I went to the Dr. was for anxiety.

I haven't had any symptoms of Diabetes that I know of, no frequent urination or thirst. I also havent been eating right, actually hardly at all. I even lost 10lbs and this is from someone who normally weighs 135 and is 5'9" tall.

I guess I just want to prepare myself for the worst.

Hi! Why don,t you just relax and wait til you see the Doc. Sounds like you,re under a lot of stress and that can do all kinds of things to the body. The Doctor is the only one who can tell you if you have diabetes or not. Worrying ahead of time will do you no good.

I agree I think you need to learn to relax. Put things in perspective. I have had type 1 diabetes for 36 years. (Which is almost my whole life.) I recently got diagnosed with the first signs of kidney disease. But, you know what, there are many people with problems far worse than mine.
