Hi, I am new to this board
I normally visit the pregnancy board as I am 22 weeks pregnant...Anyway I am type 2 diabetic who was diet and tablet control before getting pregnant...Since then I have been put on insulin which I am slowly getting used to and slowly gettng things under control...What my question is has anyone else been diagnosed with MACULA EDEMA and what exactly is it ? I started getting really blurry vision ( more so in the morning ) about 8 weeks ago, I went to an eye specialist and he diagnosed me with this....He cant offer the treatment they normally would due to the pregnancy and said it can take up to 6 months to come good....What I am frightened of is can there be major damage done with it being left untreated? Another thing I was wondering if any of you have heard of ASPARTAM and the effects it can have on the eyes ? I was started using equal about a month before the bluriness started but have since stopped as i read about all these horrible side effects of using it......I stopped using equal about 2 weeks ago and i thought my eyes were improving, but then 2 days ago i noticed this little line appeared in my vision in my left eye....IF ANYONE CAN OFFER ANY INFO OR ADVICE OR IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD SIMILAR HAPPEN TO THEM PLEASE REPLY
