I am new to this testing stuff and have a quick question. Do you test your fasting before brushing your teeth? I can never remember not to brush first. Does it hurt even if I rinse my mouth very well? My blood sugar just seems to be getting higher and higher each day so I'm hoping the brushing has something to do with it.
There is no way that brushing your teeth affects your blood sugar levels unless you are swallowing several teaspoons of toothpaste, which I seriously doubt!
If your sugar is getting higher and higher, something is not right with your treatment program. Are you on meds? Diet and exercise? Were you diagnosed with T2? If so, it's possible it's getting a bit worse (happens to the best of us, unfortunately) and you need a change in treatment.
