Weird taste in mouth...
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone here could tell me what this is. My father is a Type I diabetic. He complains of having a sweet taste in his mouth and how it's most noticeable after drinking water. I have no idea what it could be, but I'm going to assume it has something to do with his diabetes. Does anyone here know what it could be and if it does have something to do with diabetes?

Sounds like ketoacidosis to me. Does he run his sugars high?

I agree. Ketones often cause this. Does he have any ketostix to check?

Sorry for taking a while to get back to you guys. I don't know if my father's been checked for that Ketostix type thing, but at the time, his sugar was running high. It's gone back down.
