Who do I see to be tested?

I had a physical/routine check up in December of 2007 and the doctor said my blood work was fine. Still, I'm somewhat skeptical.

If I'm to be tested for diabetes, who should I see? Can I just see a primary care physician or do I have to see someone special? I don't know a lot about this.

Re: Who do I see to be tested?

No one seems to want to test any more than the standard fasting test on the panel. You can ask your primary but if yours is like mine they likely won't do it in depth and brush you off unless you have a high fasting. I have tried to set up appts with endocrinologists and NONE of them will see me unless my primary calls with a referral. Seems ridiculous that you are willing to pay and no one wants to see you.
