How Does Diabetes Affect The Menstrual Cycle?
I was reading an article where it said that diabetes can cause ammenorrhea and inow wonder if that is why my periods have stopped. I also have Hashimoto's (for 3 years) and that was one main symptom for me. I'll be 46 in a month. My GYN told me i was officially in menopause because all my hormone tests showed it. These were taken back in December. It shows my FSH at 24.8, however i heard that it has to be at least 40 to iindicate meno. My LH was 27.5, Progesterone 0.5, Prolactin 5.7.
I'm Type 2 diabetic and take Metformin and Glyburide. My last period was 16 months ago. After reading all of this i am kind of not buying it that i am in menopause and that is mainly because of the Hashi's and T2 Diabetes.
Is there anyone here who can give me some straight answers? I can't seem to get any dr to explain anything to me. Thank you in advance

Re: How Does Diabetes Affect The Menstrual Cycle?
I am 50 and have type 2 diabetes but my periods have never been affected. I am no great expert in these things though.
