Question about blood sugar

My grandmother is diabetic and I've had an obsession over my blood sugar, always thinking it's low. I have bad anxiety disorder, and health anxiety. I am 30 yr old female. I had her check my sugar the other day and it was 156. I had a couple sausage biscuits for breakfast that morning. It'd been about two hours since eating them, then I'd downed a half a powerade about 25 minutes before her checking it. I hit post too soon. I meant to add that I am non diabetic, I presume. I was wondering if this would be a normal random non diabetic reading after having the drink or do I need to consult the dr for further testing? I was tested about 2 yrs ago and the results came back normal.

Re: Question about blood sugar

Not sure how much sugar powerade has, but it sounds like a perfectly normal blood sugar especially after having a sugary drink not more than 30 minutes before.

Re: Question about blood sugar

Thanks for the responses. I didn't know how to take it properly. I stayed up late last night so the last bite of food I had eaten was at 4 this morning...slept, Didn't eat anything nor drink anything but water, then got her to check it at 1 today. It was 97. Then I ate lunch and checked it two hours after it was 124. Is this normal readings From what I read it is, non diabetic nor pre diabetic.

Re: Question about blood sugar

Lynsy22,
You should really see your Dr. nad get some good advice. The reading of 97 is normal, but a reading of 124 at 2 hrs. after eating may, and I mean may be questionable. There are tests that a doctor can have done that can answer your questions. We are all guessing. Even though the guesses are educated, it still should be put in the hands of a doctor to get a good evaluation. You're not looking at a life sentance. Control can with diet, exercise, and meds, keep you living a very normal life, if you truely are flirting with diabetes. Your anxeity can play havoc with your whole body. See a doctor.
Best of luck nd keep us informed - we'll help all we can.
Dick

Re: Question about blood sugar

Yes, you're fine for postprandial numbers. It's all very variable depending on what you ate, how quickly you ate it etc. I don't think you need to be worried right now.

Re: Question about blood sugar

I had a can of Campbells Chunky Chicken and Dumpling Soup and A Ham Sandwich. I didn't eat it very fast. Should I be concerned?
