Every time I inject Levemir , I get a red , itching area about an inch around the spot. It lasts about 10 miuntes and then goes away.
I mentioned this to my Endo and said to change the vial of insulin. HUH????

Well this happens with every vial.......

Your opinion is needed , as I am going to talk to him about this again and would really like some informed input...Thankyou....

My guess is that you have an allergic reaction to something in the process other than the insulin. It could be to the rubber insert material in the insulin vial. Try filling your syringe, then clean the needle with an alcohol swab just before you inject.

Your idea would be great except I use a pen and a 6mm ultra fine needle. They bend very easy. They are a 1 time use ........I am going to alchohol the area before I shoot and see if that makes a difference. You do not need to alchohol though because they are sssooo small...
I am also shooting rapid before meals and this does not happen then.....
