Diabetic rage/coma???

I work with a young man who has diabetes. He doesnt take care of himself. He drinks a lot, doesnt eat well, etc. Well today his level was a 33. Pretty low I know and he just went nuts. Throwing things, hitting people, punching doors, etc. Then after an hour he didnt remember what happened? So did he have a diabetic rage or?

Re: Diabetic rage/coma???

I've experienced times like that too with my boyfriend who is T1 and with myself. If you are really low you can rage and get kind of violent without remembering it. My boyfriend called me screaming viciously at me and after about 20 minutes he had found skittles and like a switch went on, he said "hello" and didn't know he was on the phone and had no recollection of anything he had done before when he was REALLY low. He had also changed all his clothes too without remembering it. For myself, I was told after a low where I could no longer see that I kept saying how worried I was that I was going to have a seizure and that I was apologizing in advance in case I lost control of my bladder.

So it's not too uncommon with SEVERE lows to do things you can't remember, that are often a little "angry". If he starts being like that again, check his blood sugar and get some sugar into him ASAP.
