low blood sugar after meals?

Can just vacuuming a couple of rooms reduce your post meal blood sugar. I ate a good lunch and even had a little regular ice cream not much and when I took my 2 hr post meal bs it was 75??? still trying to learn and wondering if that is considered a lot of exercise, I didn't think it was. thanks in advance for any input.

Re: low blood sugar after meals?

Vacuuming always lowers my blood sugar, actually! It's hard to say what caused the lowered BG reading though... It could have been due to what you ate, maybe you spiked from the ice cream and your body pumped out too much insulin.

Re: low blood sugar after meals?

It's almost as if my pancreas decides to come out of retirement occasionally.... I can't seem to relate the observance to anything that I change or do differently, but once in a while, I get unexplainably low sugars like this.

Just don't know.

Re: low blood sugar after meals?

Hi,
thanks for the input. I am really hoping I can get off the metformin since I am right at the border, so I try to get a mixed collection of readings for my dr to see in December. I know now that my readings are lower from fingersticks. When I did a 2 hr after meals from the heel of my hand several weeks ago it was 135 and that was a lighter lunch. I don't eat the regular ice cream usually only a little sugar free and it was just a tiny scoop. thanks again!!

Re: low blood sugar after meals?

I think its because physical activity lowers blood sugar. I had an experience with vaccumming lowering my sugar. I had just eaten a meal and checked my sugar and it was 120, then almost immediately i vaccummed for 5-7 minutes maybe 10, just my small bedroom and i checked my sugar again and it was 86. I was shocked, it lowered it in just a few minutes.
