Re: First signs of Neuropathy?
That sounds much more like something structural (neck or spine). Neuropathy typically begins with a slight tingling or numbness and most often in the feet. It is usually very slight at first. Very often the problem in the feet begins with a loss of vibration sense - you lose some of the ability to balance. Sometimes you get sharp stabbing pains as well.
I have had back problems and what you describe is what sometimes happens when I sit the wrong way (my foot goes numb). Sometimes my hand goes numb as well and it is a problem with the ulnar nerve in my elbow. I would recommend seeing someone about such joint problems that may be the cause. While I am not a doctor, I agree with yours that it is most likely not neuropathy.
