Re: blood sugar over 300

How long has it been since you have been on the new doseage of meds.? If your BS is running that high for awhile I would definately call the Dr. and let them know, and yes, it is worth worrying about.

Good luck...JJ

Re: blood sugar over 300

delores65: Yes, you need to see the doctor. You sound like you might be in need of some insulin to help get the sugars lowered. You can become insulin resistant and need insulin even if you're T2.

Re: blood sugar over 300

Yes you should be worried, are you watching your carb intake? My sugar was almost 400 when they diagnosed me, I felt horrible, I watch everything I eat and very rarely does my sugar go above 120 after a meal. Put yourself on a very restrictive diet and see if it drops. Good Luck...I know the battle!

Re: blood sugar over 300

delores65, I agree with JSY1221. I used to have blood sugar readings constantly above 160 and also high, unhealthy Cholesterol and Triglycerides readings, and really felt poorly with constant breathing problems, weakness, swelling, nerve problems, etc.

I went on a very healthy, small meal, low calorie, low Glycemic, frequent eating diet and, almost immediately, I experienced improvements to my health and blood sugar. I also started a demanding daily exercise program, for which I am doing an average of 300 steppers, 200 weight curls, 150 weight lifts, 75 back lifts, 1 hour power walk and 50 pushups per day.

Over a long period of time I continued to improve and, near age 70, I feel better than I did 30 years ago. So..... Diet and Exercise does work, at least it does for me!
