Most people have absolutely no symptoms. Many have found out through a blood test yet never suspected anything. Usually if someone is thirsty a lot and going to the bathroom quite frequently they will suspect and others may be feel very lethargic after a big meal, especially a high carb meal.
If parents have it there is a 50/50 chance of the child getting it, whether it be type 1 or 2. Obviously if the parents have it the child is at a bigger risk, but it's not definate they will. Only your Dr. can tell you for sure as even those symptoms can be something entirely different.
