how many times to eat per day and how many grams of calories
anyone could advise?
while I am not a diabetic apparently, I have all the symptoms and did a home test
Here are my results:
first reading after fasting (ie after the night): 4.7 mmol/L (84.6 mg/dl)
(at around 8am)
which is still slightly above the really ideal value apparently, but doctor's test came back negative there, so this one was still OK.
forced one 1/4 cups of plain boiled cooked white rice into me.
So even if doctor's would pronounce me normal, I don't feel it and also fear that I will eventually develop diabetes.
Another complication is that I can't eat too much fat or fibre in any one meal due to digestive problems. (can't eat wholewheat bread before anyone advises me that)
so, as a general rule, how often should you eat? it is ok to eat every two hours? and what should your carb intake be maximum?
Re: how many times to eat per day and how many grams of calories
Sorry, I agree with your doctor's definitions. Less than 100 fasting (5.5 mmol) and less than 140 two hours after a meal (7.8). I don't know where you got your numbers, but they are not what is generally accepted by the medical profession.

thank you. I do agree that I don't have diabetes as such and I need not be on insulin, but you can see that there is a fluctuation, and I am physically experiencing the symptoms, so I'd better be careful. Main problem is that if I restrict carbs I am too low on calories overall and I have IBS, which means that I can't just eat as much fibre and fat as normal people. I am now eating every one and a half/two hours. quite/too frequently...
