Hello, my 61-year-old dad has Type-II diabetes and it is highly possible that I will end up having one when I grow old. I was looking at an entry in ********* about Insulin Resistance and found that I have all of the symptoms listed. I would also feel very sleepy after lunch (hypoglycemic?) and would sometimes lack energy. Although according to a blood test done by my doctor several months ago, my glucose level seems to be normal.
So I was wondering if anyone knows any safe and effective supplements that would increase insulin sensitivity without taking metformin? I've looked at R-ALA and Banaba extract but wasn't sure their effectiveness.
Hi......I am insulin resistant or so i thought.I was using near 90 units at night plus 80 in the morning.Dr said inject in a certain area which i did for a while then i just tried a different area & wow big difference. Now i only use 20 units morning from 80.Even dr has no clue why but i told them where you inject makes a huge difference & all dr/nurses say no but i am proof.Mostly i listen to what my body tells me not the dr's.
