fasting blood test

I had some blood tests last week and now i have received a letter from my doctor asking me for a fasting blood test ,normally they only contact u if something is wrong. I have been suffering from extreme tiredness and i am over weight i am 52 and male . I an worried that i might have type 2 diabetes.

Yes, you might. If, in fact, you do have T2, ask your doctor for a referral to a registered dietician for advice on meal planning. And try to find a way to exercise...even walking for just 10 minutes at a time, a few times a day, will help.

Well it tuns out I have raised triglycerides witch is a type of fat i believe , so having the fasting blood test next week No idea if this has anything to do with type2

Elevated triglycerides are seen in diabetes, but it's not the only reason.
