Welcome. We can't post any sites but do a search for low glycemic and low carb foods. Yes white stuff and sugar are not your "best friends" but I myself have cheated a few times but trust me..VERY few times. I guess it makes one feel good to indulge once in awhile.
Best thing you can do it eat to your meter. While experimenting with foods check your meter after trying something new to see how it affects you. Some folks are very sensative and others can handle a few things. I have no problems eating oatmeal every morning, yet others have found their numbers to go up too much..it's all hit and miss. Once you find out what will or will not affect you in a bad way, your choices get better and easier.
