Recurring mild eye symptoms
Hoping for either some "normalization" or advice. Not sure if my cyberchondria is getting the better of me. Twice in the last year I had episodes, lasting a few weeks, with one eye (left) feeling *slightly* weaker or blurrier than the other. Because I had just been diagnosed with Type I diabetes, I went for a dilated eye exam the first time it happened. Everything looked normal. I didn't specifically mention the blurriness because, again, it's almost hard to describe without overstating what it feels like--being so mild.
It feels a bit like a mild version of what I get when my BG gets low, or what it felt like when I first started insulin after being diagnosed and my eyes were readjusting to normal BG levels--only in one eye. I guess my question is this:
Does anyone notice longterm eye symptoms that aren't specifically tied to hypoglycemia or diabetic retinopathy, but that you attribute to diabetes?
Obviously, BG swings cause eye issues with glucose uptake and all so it doesn't seem too far a stretch to think this process might cause subtler, longer effects?
After too much googling I'm starting to obsess that it was something like optic neuritis that would need more testing than I dilated exam to diagnose.
Thanks for any thoughts...
