Personal blood sugar meters accuracy

Hello all people in need of diabetes care
I have recently discovered that I have all the symptoms of diabetes or at the least insulin resistace or prediabetes
I bought a meter "Easytouch G" and seem to have some readings fluctuations
Some documentation give a comparative graph against YSI lab meters
but the graph is so small that it is impossible to read
I would like somebody to direct me to a site giving clear info as to the accuracy of the personal Glucometers I.E +/- X % against YSI
or alternatively a site that provide a readeable graph of comparaison for all portables against YSI
Thank you in advance

Re: Personal blood sugar meters accuracy

The industry standard for meter accuracy is plus or minus 20%. That said, each individual meter is different. I take my meter with me to the lab and I know that it is typically 4% above the lab value at most. I am happy with it. The only way to know for sure how accurate your particular meter is, is to take it with you to the lab. In the meantime, if you are using it to help diagnose yourself, it will give good ball park results.
