| Re: Was my blood sugar tested?
I don't know what the new procedures are, but about 11 years ago, my GP did not routinely test. I had to schedule an appointment and insist they test, because I had extreme thirst.
Some medical offices now have your lab records on-line so you can review them. (I have seen this with Duke Healthcare.) Look for test that says A1C. (It measures your average blood sugar level for the last 3 months.) If it was abnomal, your doctor should have called to tell you, because it's a life threatening condition if the blood sugar is too high.
If you have reason to suspect diabetes, I would insist on a test. Sometimes they have you fast and then drink this sweet liquid before taking the test.
