First of, from my understanding there is more than one type of neuropathy. In speaking with my Doc today, he told me they cannot cure it but they 'arrest' it in it's current state.....i.e., not let it worsen....

I am starting cymbalta for this,.....had a very bad experience with Topamax. Anyone out there doing 60mg cymbalta for neuropahy? Thanks!

I have no experience with that drug, but I did use the dpn cocktail (diabetic peripheral neuropathy cocktail) made up of ALA (alpha lipoic acid), GLA (gamma linolenic acid) and vitamin C. I was able to reverse the peripheral neuropathy in my feet although it did take some time. You have to do this in conjunction with tight glucose control, of course.

I am there with you on the Topamax, that is some really bad!

I have not tried Cymbalta, but I am on something called Nucynta.

Nucynta is an amazing drug for Neuropathy, it is basically like a mixture of Cymbalta (norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) and Tapentadol (High power Tramadol) and the two in combination are somehow absolutely AMAZING for stopping Neuropathic pain!

Many people like the rush they get from Percocets or Vicodens and will therefore swear that Nucynta is no good as it does not give them their pain killer high...... BUT......

If you are truly looking for pain relief and are not concerned about getting high, talk to your doctor about Nucynta, just don't mix it with any other norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors like Cymbalta and others.
