It is possible for you to bring your sugars down and lower your meds or maybe even get off of them if you work really hard at lowering your weight and watching your carb intake.
Walking is the best thing you can do to lower your BS and it's relaxing and free. Testing before and after meals will tell you how your doing in the food dept. They say eat to your meter...
Kudos on dropping the weight , you will feel better and be more encouraged to keep at it. Consider it a way of life eating and not a diet because you will need to always watch your blood sugars.
There are many great foods out there now to help us. Dreamfields Pasta is low carb and whole wheat is great if you like it, I don't like whole wheat so I make roll ups with ham and cheese or turkey and cheese or what ever you like. No bread and easy to make.
Don't be too discouraged about this. If you take care and eat right you can live along healthy life and maybe even cheat now and then when you get things in order and feel comfortable with having this.
Read the boards here and you will get much information from others, and ask questions. Walk, walk, walk....Good luck to you.
Don't be fooled by the get rid of diabetes adds you see on line, they don't work. When they have something we will all know about it for sure!
It's tough to be that young and have so many restrictions on what you eat and drink but you can do it, just keep trying.
