Almonds

I just read that eating an ounce (30 grammes) of almonds a day will lower blood sugar significantly. I will try it and report back.

Re: Almonds

Do you have an update? I just started eating almonds as a snack to see if it would help my BG go down.
Thanks!

Re: Almonds

No difference so far. The only thing that lowers BS for me is exercise and my regular medication, Januvia and Diamicron.

Re: Almonds

Many foods claim to "lower" blood sugar. I think what happens is that if you switch from potato chips to almonds you will have lower blood sugar. But basically food doesn't lower your glucose. If you haven't eaten anything and eat some almonds, the protein will be converted to glucose andn you might rise anyway.

That said, almonds are good for you and are an excellent low carb snack. So enjoy!
