Angry Pain in the flesh of hands with swelling

My Mother is a Type 2 diabetic. Over the last 2 years she has experienced pain not of the joints but in the flesh of her hands. She also a decreased range of motion over entire body. Her MD told it was myocystits. Which is a blanket term like dermatitis. I'm hoping that someone out there has experienced this problem and have overcome it. My mother already takes 21 pills a day and I'm trying to find a solution that does not involve prescription meds.
I'm really P.O.'d that her many MD's don't treat it like it's a problem. My Mother did all her own shopping, cooking, cleaning, drove whenever, wherever she wanted and went to church every Sunday. Some days, she can barely make it up the front steps of our home.
Please help me if you can.

Type 2 Diabetes can almost ALWAYS be cured through appropriate diet and exercise. Has your mother considered going on a healthier, appropriate calorie diet and increased exercise?

Insulin is one of the most important hormones in our body. When the handling of Insulin is dysfunctional, all hell breaks loose in our metabolism. It causes all kinds of miserable and nasty side effects.

Wow! Those are some serious chemicals entering her "messed up" metabolism each and every day! There is absolutely no one in this world that can predict how all those meds will interact with each other, never mind how they will interact in a metabolism that does not handle Insulin well.

I am so sorry that your mother is going through such misery, and that it is breaking your heart. I wish you and your mother the best of health in the future!
