I am a 44 year old non-obese woman who has a strong family history of type 2 diabetes. When I was pregnant with my youngest at 40 I had severe gestational diabetes my entire pregnancy and was even hospitalized for high blood sugars a few times. In fact, I was taking 75-100 units of insulin per day and was on insulin my entire pregnancy. I have casually been keeping track of my BS and they have slowly been creeping up. Therefore, my Dr recommend a fasting and 2 hour test w/that lovely glucose drink. After the drink I actually fell asleep in the chair in the waiting room about 15 mins after the drink. I am the type of person who never falls asleep sitting up. Is sudden and severe fatigue a symptom of the glucose drink?
