I asked about this on the back injury board also.

I have a very huge fear of Doctors, and am seeing a psychiatrist for this. I have scheduled back surgery coming up, and will be having pre testing exams.

I have never had high blood sugar, however when my psychiatrist had me do blood testing in April, my blood sugar was at the high end of normal.

With the pain I'm having from sciatica, and the stress of an operation for someone who is afraid of Doctors, I'm so afraid my blood sugar levels will have gone up. I have no signs I know of that I am diabetic.

My question. If my blood sugar is high at the pre testing, what will they do? If it's just slightly elevated, will I still be able to have surgery, or will they need to postpone it and give me treatment first?
