sudden up in blood sugar levels

My parents and grand parents have no history of diabetes and now i am 37 and till date my blood sugar levels are normal.
Suddenly during my routine test it was found that my fasting blood sugar is 128 and my post lunch blood sugar is 165. Please any one suggest why it is happened so and will this be the indication of diabetes....

Re: sudden up in blood sugar levels

Many things can up your blood sugar like stress, illness, eating something that gave you a spike etc. etc. You should have your Dr. do an A1c to see what your average is over a 3 month period.

Wishing you the best...JJ....

Re: sudden up in blood sugar levels

Don't forget that you don't have to have a family history of diabetes (nor do you need to be overweight) to get it. I would talk to the doc and get a bit more testing done. This is too important to simply leave by the wayside.
