Question Glimepiride (also known as Amaryl)

I take 2000 mg of metformin daily. Because my A1C has started to rise, my doctor recently put me on glimepiride (brand name Amaryl). I have been on the glimepiride for about 2 weeks. Almost daily since I began the new medicine, I have had some dizziness or light-headedness that makes my head feel weird. Yesterday I did not take the glimepiride and I was much better and I did not take it again today and I was EVEN better. So, I think it is the glimepiride making my head feel like that. Has anyone experienced a side-effect like this on glimepiride? I need to talk to my doctor, but I would like to hear other people's experiences with it as well. Anyone?

Re: Glimepiride (also known as Amaryl)

What is your blood sugar when this happens? You could be going low. I would talk to the doc about it.

Exclamation Re: Glimepiride (also known as Amaryl)

When I first got on Glimepiride my blood sugars were dropping into the 50s and 60s.My doctor cut my dose in half from 4mg twice daily to 2mg twice daily.
