You can read up on this and start a program of walking and low carbs. It isn't easy giving up things like white foods which are very glycemic. All our comfort foods like baked potatoes, white rice, white pasta and all the sauces that go with it and of course white bread.
But if you make a plan and consistantly walk in the am and in the evening and even at lunch afteryou have eaten you will see your sugars drop an maybe get off your meds if your on them. EXERCISE and DIET are the key.
Then when you get it down you can add a little bit of things you love and see how our sugars go. Were all different with foods. But it isn't something that will be gone just know that. You just can get it in control instead of it controlling you and you will feel great. If your over weight it will start dropping with your walking and curbing your foods.
