Losing Balance While working out

Members

I am a Type 2 Diabetic. Six months ago i was presribed lipitor 10 Mg. I normally work on elliptical for 45 to 50 minutes burning 500 calories. After One month on Lipitor When i was working out after about 20 minutes I started having off balance problems. This would happen around 20 to 25 minutes after i start working out on the elliptical. I am not sure what the cause is I am thinking it is linked to Lipitor. I was wondering if anyone have experienced what i am going through Please share it with me. I have stopped Lipitor

Thank you

Re: Losing Balance While working out

Are you on any medication for diabetes? I've not heard of Lipitor affecting anyone that way, so I'm thinking that maybe you're going low while exercising? Even though it didn't happen before you were on Lipitor, it's possibly coincidental, not causative. If you've lost weight, then your insulin needs would decrease and your body would be also be less insulin-resistant, so you may need to eat something before exercising. Try testing before you get on the elliptical, and then testing 20 minutes in to your routine, and see if your bg is dropping. Sometimes the first symptom of a low I get when exercising is that feeling of losing my balance.

Re: Losing Balance While working out

Thanks Ruth for your reply. Appreciate it. However I have checked my BG and it between 100-140.
