Low blood Sugar

I was just wondering if a "low" blood sugar is different for different people?. I find that when I feel the shaky, sweats, dizziness, heart racing and I check my sugar it's only between 4.5 to 5.5, sometimes even just 5.4 mmol/l. But I am in extreme discomfort with a panic feeling and feeling like I'm going to faint until it's over six. my family has a hard time believing me because the numbers aren't considered "low low". I'm just curious, could this be a low for me. Also I recently started taking metformin, before that my average sugar was between 16 and 26, and with the metformin it's between 6.5 and 13.

Re: Low blood Sugar

When you've been high for a while, normal blood sugar will feel low. This will go away once you are "normal" for a while. It's best to just try to put up with the bad feeling. It will go away. Anything below 4 is considered low. It doesn't vary with individuals. Hang in there for a bit and these feelings will go away.
