Am I diabetic or insulin resistant?

Hello,

I work out a lot and eat pretty healthy. However, I have been experiencing fatigue issues. I eat 6 meals a day which consist of protein, fats, and carbs. Protein is usually chicken or a protein shake, fats are almonds or peanut butter, and carbs are oatmeal and usually brown rice. Slowly but surely I have been noticing more and more bloating. I retain water like crazy. I am always pretty fatigued and after eating I can fall asleep very easily. Even while sitting or standing. I have been having some constipation issues as well. I will feel like I have to go but then not be able to. Any ideas on what this could be?

Well, adding some fruits and veggies to your diet might help with the bloating and constipation. Nuts, chicken and oatmeal are perfectly healthy foods, but they do not make a complete diet.

If that doesn't help, see a doctor.

I do actually. I forgot to mention that. I don't eat many fruits but I do eat a good amount of broccoli. I also take metamucil for extra fiber.

Re: Am I diabetic or insulin resistant?

The only way to tell for sure is to check your blood sugar. Either fasting or 2 hours after a meal. See your doctor too.
